Denny Breitenfeld is a pioneering technology executive and accessibility advocate with a deep passion for harnessing artificial intelligence to break down barriers for individuals with disabilities. A former Verizon executive, Denny has spent the last decade advancing spatial media AI, earning recognition as a visionary leader in the field. With more than 30 patents in spatial media technology, he is widely regarded as the "godfather of the volumetric ecosystem," a title bestowed upon him by industry peers for his groundbreaking contributions.
Throughout his career, Denny has led innovations at the intersection of AI and enterprise technology. As the President of the Volumetric Format Association (VFA) since 2022—elected by a board that includes members from Microsoft, Intel, Unity, Canon, Sony, and more—he has played a crucial role in shaping industry standards and driving the adoption of spatial media technologies. His thought leadership has been featured at premier events such as Nvidia's developer conferences in 2021 and 2022, where he shared insights into the transformative impact of AI and volumetric technology on the future of digital experiences.
Denny’s expertise extends beyond innovation into strategic partnerships and business growth. He was instrumental in Verizon’s acquisition of Jaunt XR in 2019, a move that cemented Verizon’s presence in immersive media. He also led multi-year partnerships with Nvidia, Red Digital Cinema, and Unity 3D, collaborations that advanced the integration of AI-driven spatial media solutions at scale. Prior to his tenure at Verizon, he served as CTO of NetBlender Inc., a startup that revolutionized optical disc technology with web-enabled DVDs, HD-DVDs, and Blu-ray, culminating in its acquisition by Sony in 2011.
